I connected the machine to the tech pc in the workshop and flashed the software using the BATCH ALL 32MB batchfile in SST. No good:mad: Then I realized that this error only occured AFTER I fitted the 32mb print rom to the machine. I retraced my steps and lo-and behold found a cable unplugged on the fax board.plugged it in and all was working fine. Canon's fix was to update the software OR replace the printer rom:rolleyes. Canon's Service Support Tool is what we use to update system software on Canon copiers,scanners,faxes etc. To the best of my knowledge the SST is only available to Canon.inc techs and Canon Dealer techs.however.I know that people who have requested the software here have been pointed in the right direction.

With the ir1022 series it's an easy process as the machine connects via the typical USB printer cable and the software consists of BOOT,SYSTEM and PCL. If it has a print rom installed then you use the 32mb batch file and for no print kit you use the 16mb batch file.

When ever i get a call to this problem All i do is to reload the system firmware. Always seems to cure it Never have to do anything else (Boot, and PCL), Do know of a couple of machines that needed new DIMM but so far i've been lucky enough to get just the ones with system reloads WARNING mind. What to reload with sometimes depends on what the customers platform is If it' just windows, that 9/10 you can use the lastest version But we have a HUGH account where only V61.01 will only work, anything else, and the machine will not print So i can only advise is to put back on it what it had on in the 1st place. We have it connected to a server as a network printer normally. I have connected it to a single PC (XP) with the USB cable and used the CD that came with the machine for the driver installation and it gives the message Download Connected or Download Connected 7701 but the Canon driver installation sofware fails when it tries to connect to the print. Whilst windows hardware setup detects the hardware but doesn't think that the driver software matches it. The machine will not respond to any button presses. I have not managed to track down the firmware for it.

The Canon support site only has the installation drivers. Hello, i have a iR1022iF with the 'DOWNLOAD CONNECTED' Message. The Printer don't response to any button i pressed and i can't get the ip-adress of this thing:( I've searched the whole last week for options to reset/repair it, anything i could get is that i have to reset the system firmware with the 'Service Support Tool' which normally only Canon's technicians work with. Then the newest Firmware, i think it's not v61.01 but if it's functionally, everything is fine. Now i've got the SST v4.33e. But don't really know how to connect to the Hardware:( and don't have the Firmware to reset this.
