Can we make a list of all knowned working UPS's, in a 'plug-n-play' way? I've read so many posts and I still have doubts about what are the best UPS's to use with Nas4Free. We've had a few storms in my area lately causing temporary power outages. After an outage, it usually just requires me to restart SMB, but I was at MicroCenter today and they had a 450va APC UPS on sale for $55 (BN4001) so I picked one up. I used driver version 'usbhid-ups' and set the shutdown time to 180 (3 minutes). Since all my network gear is in the same place I also put a phone modem, HD Homerun Prime and TA adapter on the UPS (since they all get squirley after an outage).

I can confirm that this device works quite well! Just for SAG, I unpugged the power cord from the UPS for 2 minutes and all the devices kept power and remained intact without any problems. It appears this thread may be dead but I will give it a try. I noticed in the list of compatible UPSs that the CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS is listed but I was wondering about other variations of the PFC line such as the CP1350PFCLCD or the CP1500PFCLCD. I am looking to purchase a UPS that is compatible with NAS4Free. Since the versions I am interested in appear only to be larger VA versions of the one listed, I was wondering if they would work as well. I am not sure if they are not listed as they have not been tested/confirmed yet, or if they do require a different type of driver that is just not compatible with NAS4Free.

Any help on the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try this: Unplug everything for 30 seconds, to give time for circuits to fall to zero? Then hook it all back up. Just to make sure: Did you plug the load into UPS, and plug UPS into mains? So that the load is powered by mains? Did you then disconnect mains?

Normally the UPS should take over at that point. And I supposed you pressed the reset button/switch? Liverpool Library Press Download. Maybe a few buttons in combination?

There may be a combination which resets the UPS, and the manufacturer didn't print it in the instructions. The UPS may be able to detect whether your backup battery has high or low internal resistance. That may be how it determines whether the battery is acceptable. Try testing an alternate battery. Can you connect a car battery (or two if it's a 24 V system) to the internal connections of the UPS?

This may not be easy to do. It is likely to have low internal resistance.
