I encountered this recently on a website I manage. Firefox would download the file without problems but chrome would always give XXX/0 B interrupted.

It turns out the problem was the webserver was sending an incorrect Content-length header which was more bytes than the actual file. So chrome was thinking the file was not completely downloaded when the webserver stopped sending data so it assumed it was interrupted. Removing the content-length header solves this problem.

I really get upset when the coders are over looking writing error catch loops in the code that does not return a message. If chrome had gave me a dialog box that said, SOMETHING, anything, about why it did not, would not, or could not complete it's task, I would have been fine with that. I learned early on that catching errors in code is fine, but if you don't document it to the interface, no one ever knows if there is a problem. I get a message when a plugin fails, why not pop one up when a download fails?

Very interesting indeed. Comodo claims that 9 certs were fraudulently issued but only 1 was seen live on the internet. I checked my Cert store and discovered that The Certs on my machine do indeed have the same serial numbers as the ones listed. The disturbing part of this is Comodo says that they were marked as frauds as soon as they were discovered. Well, they do not say how long it took them to discover this. Furthermore at the time of the discovery they notified the domain owners of what had happened and everyone supposedly issued patches for this.

Now if these certs were never live on the net, what the hell are they doing in my cert store? Someone is not telling the truth. Would it be reasonable to assume that since I had only been using chrome during the time in question, that those keys were imported by chrome and used at some point before they were marked as frauds.???

How many other people have these certs in their store i wonder? I think all this is a non issue now, but now I have even more concern than before.

I got an update on my issue when trying to download again, but this time from within an embedded.PDF visualized in Firefox using evince. This time I got a 'permission denied error'. Since Paragon *must* be using Standard API's, this would lead me to believe that the Chrome folks, in their quest for speed, have bypassed some necessary higher-level file handling API's for some lower-level routines that aren't intercepted by the Paragon substitutions. Unfortunately, my Trend Micro antivirus didn't like it much, and halted the downloaded saying the file contained something called 'WORM_SPYBOT.BMC' trojan.

I've read all the posts on this thread so far, but my impressions is that the main issue is that Chrome doesn't produce a more readable (and actionable) error message. What the heck does 'Interrupted' mean? Interrupted by whom due to what? I can think of a few scenarios: 1.

The network cable on a machine was pulled out 2. The file on the server was deleted while it was being downloaded 3. The server's internet connection was cut off (e.g its network card failed) 4. The wireless connection was cut off due to bad signal reception 5. The router at home was turned off. To me it seems that whoever wrote the download code for Chrome didn't go one (or two) step further and provide a message that tells more about the possible causes of the issue. The programmer just called a networking API function which somehow failed and the programmer just threw this blanket error message saying it was interrupted.

This happens across all operating systems I'm trying on a mac as well as multiple PCs. I get that it's occurring based on my download location which is a server on my network.

The problem is that downloading with any other browser, it works just fine. Chrome wants to put that damned.crdownload extension and say interrupted even when it shows that the full file has been downloaded. If I go in and manually remove the.crdownload the file works. I've set up a script to remove that extension automatically, but why that should need done and why this has persisted for over a year just baffles me. The troubleshooting steps don't help. IE and Firefox download without leaving an extension, why this is a problem for Chrome, who knows.

Here is what I have experienced: My downloads are getting interrupted, no matter where I save the file nor the source I download from. I can't send the dump file, as it gets interrupted while downloading. If I use Google Chrome on another pc, I have the same issue. I have been using Chrome for a long time without any issue, over 2 years afaik, problem appeared only a couple of weeks ago. My question is though, why was Firefox version 3.6.26 (yes that old, my IT department of my employer checks all versions before they are installed) working fine before I did the above mentioned cleaning? 2) Check their add ons, and you will see squat for downloading options, unlike any other popular browser you can name. 3) Google suggests that the developers simply haven't gotten around to it yet, but those same developers will tell you straight up that google is dead set against these tools, and in fact recently sent a legal letter to stop and desist or face legal action to one youtube dl service provider, which forced the developer to cancel their add-on.
